Our first time here, a nice mix of entrees and sushi on the menu, some rolls we had not seen before. We arrived early and were the only group in our section so the service was fast. We all had different appetizers and entrees. Six thumbs up for the presentation, quality and flavor. We all skipped dessert, next time we’ll indulge. Huge parking lot with golf course next door

We willingly cross the bridge even in the height of the summer rush for a good meal at Shogun Legacy, and honestly, that is the highest praise a local at the beach can give! Nestled quietly by the golf course, it is the perfect escape from the usual Toms River traffic and hustle. The atmosphere here is a choose-your-own-adventure situation. Want a little alfresco sushi with music and your own patio bar overlooking the greens? Done. Want a sleek, upscale dining room with immaculate attention to detail? You got it. Prefer the sensory overload of the lively hibachi section or a more laid back vibe from the large front bar? Take your pick.But honestly, I don't even know why I am babbling about the setting. If Shogun Legacy served their food out of a questionable truck on the side of Route 37, I would still pull over for a dining treat. The kitchen delivers a consistent culinary touchdown every single time. Each special roll is a bigger hit than the next. The fried rice portion is technically "generous enough for sharing," but let's be real—you will absolutely want to hoard it. Been coming here for years, the food is excellent! Kevin is a great manager and wonderful host! Always very nice and accommodating to my family. The waitress could have been better, but overall a very pleasant experience.

Takeout 4.25.2026, (using Google's 5 star system) overall experience 2.75, mediocre, adequate quality. $217 bill + $20 tip, 4 entrees, 3 app. Made order with specific request for specific time pick-up. Order not ready at requested time. Additional 15 min. Ingredients in soup ($7)(e.g., shrimp) minimal, only two. Takeaway portions on House Specialties (e.g., duck $56. & legacy $49) too small. Have had similar dish to legacy for $35 and exactly same size. Accompanying rice portions too small. Restaurant did not include trio of sauces with duck as menu states. Best item we ordered that was cheapest on our bill was their General Tso $25. However it was not significantly better (subjective) than General Tso had elsewhere for $18 and exactly same size. Interior of restaurant appeared clean and somewhat sophisticated. Hostess staff was pleasant.

Reservations with friends or last minute lunch or dinner it’s always great! Nice ambiance, always clean and staff are always friendly and welcoming. Sushi or entrees are as good as they sound but I’ll never leave without having chicken fried rice, it’s my go to! Very light and super flavorful.
